School Council
At Morley Meadow, our School Council is designed to give children some ownership of the issues that are important to them in their school.
Two children from each class are chosen by their classmates to represent their views on how to make the school an even better place in which to be educated. Upon election, they are presented with a School Council badge which they can wear with pride on their uniform.
As members of the School Council, the children commit to the following:
- I come to school regularly and on time.
- I am a good role model to other pupils.
- I will be able to attend the meetings.
- I try my best every day.
- I show respect to everyone around me.
- I take responsibility for my actions.
- I am proud of our school and want to make it even better.
Children meet regularly with Mrs Mathews to discuss ways forward, and to explain reasons behind certain courses of action. This is a vital element in our PHSE Citizenship Programme.
Meeting - September 2024
We discussed our Harvest Assembly where we will help with the display of food and encourage our classmates to create harvest artwork. We thought about how we could improve our outside area and we went back to class to come up with ideas for the Children in Need "Great Spotacular" in November.
7th October - the school council helped to set up the harvest donations display and put out the chairs, then helped to bag them all up at the end with our visitor from Plymouth Soup Run.
